On Thursday, December 23, 2022, Olga Zanfardino, loving wife and mother of three, passed away peacefully. She was ninety-seven years old. Olga was an extraordinary mother and she was comforted that her three boys, and her only grandson, were at her side during her final days. Born to Martino and Frances Ferrari in Brooklyn, New York, on September 8, 1925, she had three brothers and a sister, who all preceded her in death. She has a large extended family and was beloved ‘Aunt Augie’ to all.
Olga’s early life in Brooklyn was with her close knit family all of whom endured The Great Depression and then the War. Olga met her husband Pasquale Zanfardino, her lifetime partner, they had a courtship during that war and they were wed after he served as a Marine. Married on April 19, 1947 they shared a wonderful life together until Pasquale passed away on November 29, 2011. They were avid travelers, seeing much of the world especially their beloved Italy on multiple occasions. Olga’s singular focus was raising her children but was very proud of being a seamstress
making US Navy hats when younger and a secretary to the family business when older.
She was a wonderful host and welcomed all to her home with grace and her easy smile and will be sorely missed.
Her Entombment will be at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, NY
