Aaron Rubin, 29, of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away on July 9, 2014. Aaron was critically injured in a tragic accident at Great Falls Park on Sunday, July 6, 2014. In 2008, Aaron graduated from George Mason University. He served in the Department of the Navy at the Strategic Systems Programs as the command’s Traffic Manager and Logistics Management Specialist. Aaron was an avid sports fan of Washington’s professional teams and was particularly a devoted fan of the Nationals and Wizards. Aaron enjoyed participating in many athletic activities such as weight lifting, mountain biking, and basketball. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Julius Rubin and Howard Reel, Sr. and cousin Brooke Burrier. He is survived by his loving parents, Jeffrey and Valerie Rubin; grandmothers, Annie Reel and Lena Rubin, Uncles Howard Reel, Jr., Wayne Moore, David Burrier, Aunts, Diane Burrier, Cheryl Moore, Stephanie Reel, Cousins, Shannon Hladky, Heather Wetherson, Lauren Moore, Michael Moore, Mathew Moore, Paul Burrier.Funeral service at Congregation Beth Emeth on Friday, July 11 at 11:30 AM at 12523 Lawyers Road, Herndon, VA 20171, interment at King David Memorial Gardens on July 11, 1:30 PM at 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042, Shiva Minyan on Friday, July 11 following the burial, 7:30 PM on Sunday, July 13, and Monday, July 14 at the home of Jeffrey and Valerie Rubin, 12741 Lavender Keep Circle, Fairfax, VA 22033 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Aaron for Lou Gehrig’s Disease at the ALS Association, 1275 K Street NW, Suite 250 Washington DC 20005.
