Alvin Gardiner Dodd, 83 of Alexandria, VA died at Mount Vernon Nursing Center.Alvin was a member of the Mason?s, Scottish Rights, and Shiners. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of the Veteran?s of Foreign War.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Susan Dodd; one daughter, Sandra Walker; one son, Daniel Gardiner Dodd; one brother, Joseph Dodd; two grandchildren, Erinn Dilday and John Chorovich; and one great grandchild.The family will receive friends at Cunningham Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 6-8pm and Friday, June, 18, 2010 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A life celebration service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Alexandria, VA.
