On January 14, 2013, Barbara Adams Cross of Alexandria, VA passed away at Fairfax Hospital with loving family at her side reading Bible verses. Barbara was born on July 28th, 1954 to Joseph and Helen Adams in New Jersey. She is survived by her husband, Douglas Cross, her daughters Bethany Pulice and Lauren Cross, her son-in-law Christopher Pulice, her father Joseph Adams, her mother Helen Adams, her sisters Shirley Blankenship and Doris Thompson and their husbands Skip Blankenship and Mike Thompson, her mother-in-law Agnes Cross, and her brothers and sisters-in-laws John and Joan McGuffog and Leon and Sue Cross. She also leaves behind six nieces and nephews: Christopher Blankenship, Michelle Edling, Wendy Blankenship, Elizabeth Weader, Nathan Thompson, and Rebecca McGuffog. She also leaves behind a vast church body that loved her like family. In her lifetime, Barbara was a pastor’s wife for 26 years, the director of the art department at the American Physical Therapy Association, a talented artist, an archeologist, a museum curator, a world traveler, a lover of children, a devoted daughter and sister, and a beloved wife and mother. She loved lighthouses, history, Celtic music, going to see plays, camping, painting, drawing, hiking, sketching, laughing until she cried, playing games with her family, caring for children, talking with her sisters, and, above everything else, Jesus. She was very wise and very kind and will be missed by many. Viewing will be held on Saturday, January 19th from 9am to 11am at the Alexandria Free Methodist Church at 4901 Polk Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22304. Where a funeral service will take place at 11am Saturday. Interment to follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.
