Bruno Böttcher was loved by the Lord who took him home early on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. Born on February 2nd, 1959, he was a man who loved life, his family, and his country. He lives in the memory and hearts of those lives he touched throughout his 63 years.
Bruno was much loved and is survived by his wife, Beth Ann (Buckingham) Bottcher, his son William Edward Buckingham Bottcher, his daughter Adelle Katherine Bottcher (who loved him more than anything), and his sisters, Gisela B. Gaab, Doris Dannaker, and Arlene McLaughlin.
He was born in Uruguay, to Bruno E. Böttcher and Susanna P. Böttcher, and emigrated to the U.S. with his family at age of five. Bruno became a naturalized citizen as a teen.
Bruno was an aspiring actor who worked in the entertainment industry for several years. He was featured in the movie Mafia (1998) and worked in Hollywood as a Production Assistant on TV shows and films including Pinky and the Brain, The Lion King 2, and Judging Amy, among others. Additionally, he served his country in the Navy and Navy reserves for 20 years, and worked as an Intel Analyst contracted to the D.O.D.
Bruno was a practicing Catholic that belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed people, shooting his Henry rifle, listening to classical music, and spending time with his family.
Please join the family for visitation on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, any time between 10:00 am to noon at Cunningham Torch Funeral Home (with remarks at 11:00 am), at 1:00 pm for the funeral Mass at St. Louis Catholic Church, 2907 Popkins Lane, Alexandria, VA 22306, and after Mass for light refreshments in The Little Way Cafe (on the grounds of the church).
In lieu of flowers, people may choose to donate to a local Hospice or the American Red Cross. Hospice has been a Godsend and instrumental in helping care for Bruno this past year at home. The Red Cross had kindly flown son William home twice now from Okinawa to be with his dad.
