Calvin Roy Newman

Calvin Roy Newman, 83, of Heathsville, VA, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born August 23, 1939 to Charles & Catherine (Henderson) Newman. He is survived by his daughters; Karen (David), Kimberly (Brad), and Cyndi (Chad). Grandchildren; Steven, Eddie, Ashlyn, Krystal, and Elaina. Great Grandchildren; Emilia, Asher, Eli, and Carsyn. His sisters; Gloria, Barbara, Grace and Betty Jean (Ralph). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Calvin was predeceased by his parents; Charles and Catherine, and his brothers; Harold, Earl, Bernard, and Donald.

Calvin was born and raised in Alexandria, VA. He was a retired bus driver for Fairfax County Schools. He loved to hunt, and fish, so after retirement he moved down to Heathsville, VA. Calvin also enjoyed NASCAR, football, and softball. His other passion was driving the different Chevy Camaros he had over the years.

The family will receive friends at the Ci=unningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 on Monday February 13, 2023 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM where a Celebration of Life will take place. Interment will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 South Kings Highway, Alexandria, VA 22306
