Charles Roy Hicks SR. of Alexandria, VA Passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2017 after 87 years of a productive and fulfilling life. He is survived by four children, Charles Nancy, Debra James, Harry and Pamela Benny; as a well as eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and his Sister Mary Jane Davis. He was proceeded by his daughter, Charlotte. Buddy was born on September 5, 1929 where he grew up in Alexandria, VA. He joined the Army in WWII where he served most of his time in Italy. Following the war he join the Alexandria Fire Department where he retired. He was involved in many civic organizations such as Masonic Lodge #349, Fraternal order of Eagles #871, Moose Lodge and American Legion to name a few, with the Eagles always holding a special place in his heart. He was a past president on local and state levels and a Grand Aerie Hall of Fame recipient. Services will be held at Cunningham Funeral Home in Alexandria, VA. on Saturday, March 11, with a viewing at 11 a.m. and Memorial Service starts at 12 noon. with interment to follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow interment at Alexandria Eagles #871.
