Christine Bird On January 5, 2008, after a brief illness, Christine Louise Bird of Alexandria, Virginia said a temporary farewell to her beloved son, Tyler, and many dear friends in Washington, DC and throughout the country. She was 55. A native of Wisconsin, she traveled often with her family to Sanibel Island, Florida, and she spent a blissful five years there after graduation from the University of Wisconsin. She has been a resident of the Washington, D.C. area since 1979, where she handled marketing for several leading engineering and architectural firms. For the past four years, Ms. Bird has served her country as a program manager for the Transportation Security Administration, Office of Legislative Affairs and the Office of the Executive Secretariat. Chris was an accomplished fine artist with a deep love for seashells, birds and sea life. Her work has been represented in Florida galleries and in private collections in Washington, D.C. and New York. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 6:30 PM at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Capital Hospice of Northern Virginia.
