Corinne Montgomery Scott, a long time resident of Alexandria, Virginia died May 5, 2007 at the Goodwin House. Mrs. Scott was born June 17, 1922 in Manhattan, Kansas and moved to Virginia as a young girl where she graduated from high school in Falls Church and attended Mary Washington College.Her career in public relations began during WWII in the Office of War Information. She served in New York, London, and Paris. She then worked on the NBC production of Victory at Sea, a history of naval action during WWII. At the US Dept. of State, she was Public Affairs Officer for Central America, Cuba, and other Caribbean Islands.Over the years, Corinne Scott was involved in many community activities. She led Brownie and Girl Scout Troops and served as a member of the Girl Scout Council and the Board of Governors at Saint Agnes School. She served on the Altar Guilds for Saint Paul?s Episcopal Church and Christ Church in Alexandria. For nearly 50 years, she was active in the Garden Club of Alexandria and the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she served as Regent of the Mt. Vernon Chapter.She is preceded in death by her husband John Jack Caile Scott, and her parents, Charlotte Clarke and Wilmot Lewis Montgomery.Survivors include two daughters, Corinne and Polly, two granddaughters, and one grandson.Funeral arrangements by Cunningham Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Funeral Service will be at 1 P.M. on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Christ Church, 118 N Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Reception at Christ Church immediately following the service. Interment will take place in Aquia, VA
