Davide Bonzano on January 26, 2022, the Bonzano family lost a husband, a father, a son, and a brother. Davide Pietro Bonzano passed away in Arlington, Virginia from cancer, surrounded by the people whom he loved most, his family.
Davide was born on September 2, 1968, in Casale Monferrato (Alessandra), Italy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Monica; his pride and joy children, Catia, Luca, and Ines; his cherished parents, Albino and Giovanna; his dearest sister, Cristina and her husband, Andrea to whom Davide was like the brother he never had; Zia Gina and many much loved cousins, his doting mother-in-law, Edelmira; and his sweet dog Milo.
Davide was a devoted family man, who will always be remembered for his zest for life, his boyish enthusiasm, eternal optimism, infectious laugh, and ever-present sense of humor. He was a kind and generous soul. He loved people and people loved him. He would always see only the good in everyone who crossed his path.
Davide received his graduate degree in International Political Science from the Universita degli Studi di Torino, Italy, and pursued his passion for learning and travel by studying in London and Paris. He began his career at Societa Nazionale Metanodotti (SNAM). His job took him to Milano, Munich, Essen, and Houston, where he met Monica. Together they lived in several cities including Johannesburg, Hong Kong, and Arlington.
Davide was a consummate Human Resources professional who was passionate about his job. He dedicated his career to development, determined to make a difference in the world. He rose through the ranks at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), leading the Human Resources Department at the time of his passing. His work ethics were exemplary, and his leadership was marked by his deep expertise, business sense, and relationships based on trust. Yet the deepest mark he left on those around him was his profound humanity and care for others, always finding the time to lend a sympathetic ear and a helping hand. He was a positive force for all: kind, calm, humble, steadfast in finding solutions to the toughest issues, and striving to make IFC the best workplace it can be. He was a role model, admired and respected by everyone who had the privilege of working with him.
His job took him around the world, and he always loved discovering new places, taking pride that he visited 110 countries, and meeting people from all walks of life. However, his native Italy was always present in his heart and his soul. Whether savoring a glass of Barolo wine, cheering his beloved Juventus football (soccer) team, or riding in style in his Alfa Romeo or iconic red Vespa, he was always the proud Italian gentleman.
The family will receive visitors at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home in Alexandria, VA on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by a Rosary from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
