Dawn Hill Carlisle

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother and friend, Dawn June Carlisle of Silver Spring, Maryland. Dawn devoted her life to family, friends, and community.  While still a teenager she began working after school at a local restaurant. Later, when the opportunity arose she secured a position with the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. After learning the system at NLM, she worked as a Grants Researcher/Awarder which lasted for several decades.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Dawn took skiing trips to Canada and Vermont. She made a tour of Europe, and did extensive biking and hiking near her home. Dawn was an exceptional cook who could prepare delicious meals for large dinner parties.

A brief remembrance of Dawn's life will be held on March 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM in Mount Comfort in Alexandria, Virginia.
