Debbie June Snyder, age 69, passed away on August 11, 2021 at INOVA Mt. Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, VA after a brief battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her daughter Cheri Ann Snyder and grandson Benjamin Joseph Snyder, who were her whole world.

Debbie was born to Harvey Edward Snyder and June Irene Baker Chamberlin on April 3, 1952 in Lewisburg, PA. She was the eldest of five children and was affectionately known as “Babycakes” and “Nana” by those closest to her. Debbie was a dedicated government employee, serving in various roles with the Defense Commissary Agency. She retired from Ft. Belvoir in 2018 after 10 years of service. Prior to that, Debbie worked in multiple industries including retail, management, and medical. Outside of work, Debbie’s greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family, traveling, and cooking. Debbie was notorious for always having her hair and make-up done to perfection and wearing the best perfumes.

Debbie was known for being a giving and selfless person. Even in death, her giving continued with the donation of her corneas. Debbie’s giving spirit will touch the lives of multiple families, just as her family’s life was touched by her grandson’s receipt of a heart donation and transplant.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and June, and her brother, Todd Chamberlin. In addition to Cheri and Benjamin, Debbie is survived by her brothers Rocky Snyder, Steve Snyder, Jeff Chamberlin, Aunt Pearl Snyder, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
