Ethan Paul Babbington

Ethan Paul Babbington, 86, of Fairfax County, VA departed this life on Thursday, December 15, 2011. Paul was born in Washington, DC in 1925. The family moved to Virginia in 1939. He was the son of the late Pierce William Babbington, Sr. and Bessie May Cook Babbington. Paul was a Navy veteran of World War II and had duty stations in England from 1943 to 1945. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Rebecca Louise Saunders Babbington. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Mullenix and her husband Dane; one son, William Babbington and his wife Dorothy; three grandchildren, Ethan, Cullen, and Christopher Babbington; one sister, Grace Shull and her children Danieel Frances, and Linda. Also survived by other cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Cunningham Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Virginia where he will rejoin his beloved wife.
