“We are sad to announce the death of Mrs. Florence Jacqueline “Jackie” Frazier, from Astoria, Oregon who passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023, at the age of 98 surrounded by family, in the home of her granddaughter in Alexandria, VA. Jackie’s kind heart, beautiful crochet artwork, and tasty culinary dishes will be dearly missed. Her family is so proud of who she was and her great accomplishments, including being an instrumental part in H.R. 5894, an Act removing restrictions on the careers of female officers in the military. Her working career took her worldwide from Japan, Alaska, and Russia, as well as our nation’s capital in the Department of Army Civilian, Department of Defense, and Defense Intelligence Agency.
She is predeceased by her husband Sergeant Major Howard Frazier, her sister Mrs. Diane Brown, and brother-in-law Mr. Richard Brown.
She is survived by her son Michael Frazier; granddaughters Kelly Boger and Jennifer Blend; and great-grandchildren Erik Frazier, Ashlly Frazee, Keffen Frazee, and Koraline Blend.
Funeral arrangements are made at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home 811 Cameron St, Alexandria, VA 22314 with a viewing and service of remembrance on November 24, 2023, at 1 PM. This is open to all who can join to celebrate her life. Burial at Arlington Cemetery will be a private event later this winter. En lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Global Fund For Women (GlobalFundForWomen.org).”
