Ira Gold

Ira Gold of Springfield, VA passed away on Saturday March 26, 2022. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Hemda Gold; son, Avi Gold, daughter in law Lindsay Gold, and two grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Jane Nichols (Michael) of NC, Mara Gold of NJ, Elliott Katz (Claire) of NJ and predeceased by his brothers Mitchell Katz (Abby) and Daniel Gold.

He was born in Union, NJ and later moved to Livingston, NJ. Ira attended Rochester Institute of Technology with a major in Commercial Photography. He worked for many years in the printing industry. Later on in his career he was at the forefront of the pre-press digital printing industry and worked at Crosfield Electronics Ltd and Scitex America. He continued his knowledge of the pre-press business and was a VP at Gotham Graphics in NJ. In 1993 he established Gold Associates LLC., a pre-press consulting firm. He was also a contributing editor to Electronic Publishing for many years.

Ira had many hobbies which included photography, woodworking, computers, reading, home improvement, cooking, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Ira was very involved with the Jewish community and synagogue. He was a president of White Meadow Temple in Rockaway, NJ and on the board of Congregation Olam Tikvah in Fairfax, VA.
