Joseph Lee Coleman departed this earthly life on September 19, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on May 9,1945 in Halifax County Scottsburg, Virginia to Fort Lee and Estelle Coleman.
Brother Coleman was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia until his health began to decline.
He was employed by United Van Lines, formerly known as Crowders Transfer and Storage for over thirty years, retiring in 2010. He was a loyal and dedicated worker, who received numerous awards one being Warehouse Supervisor of the year in 2008.
Joseph’s favorite pastimes and hobbies were listening to old gospel favorites, fishing, hunting. He loved to reminisce with his love ones about the good old days.
Joseph leaves in perfect peace his wife Eloise Jean Coleman; three daughters Veronica Coleman, Sharon Proffitt, and Michelle (Goldman) Kinsey; Seventeen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren; six sisters: Lucille Pergam, Margaret (Gilbert) Morphis, Tessie Blagmon, Helen (Leonard) White, Sarah (Jerry) Oliver, and Alice (Henry) Ewell. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and very close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and two brothers Arthur and John Henry Coleman.
