“Life is so amazing and beautiful it’s crazy”
Joshua was welcomed home by his Lord on August 10, 2024. He was living his dream serving as a Russian linguist for the Navy in Baltimore, Maryland.
Joshua was born on November 5, 2002, in Boise, Idaho. He grew up in Wichita, Kansas. Joshua completed his language training at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California.
Joshua’s light radiated, making the world around him brighter and full of joy for everyone who knew him. He was honest and kind, with a genuine laugh. He had an endless desire for knowledge and a confident adventurous spirit. Joshua lived a beautiful, extraordinary life.
He is survived by his parents, Nicole and Andrew VanderZiel (Florida), his sisters Daniella VanderZiel (Kansas) and Abigail VanderZiel (Florida), and his loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and sailors.
In lieu of flowers to honor Joshua’s generous heart towards those in need, donations can be made to the Lord’s Diner in Wichita, Kansas or the Catholic Charities in Maryland.
