Kimberly Darice Coello

Kimberly Darice Coello, 64, died Sunday, July 28, 2024 surrounded by her family at Inova Fairfax Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Kim was born on December 30, 1959 in Lexington, KY to Ralph Coello and Cappie Haley.  Growing up, she loved animals, specifically horses, dedicating her young adult life to working on thoroughbred farms.

In 1991, she graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Interior Design. In 1992, she enlisted in the United States Army, serving until 2001.  Kim worked as a data analyst for the remainder of her career, and was known by her colleagues not only for her expertise, but her kindness.

She loved coming home to her dog Zoey and troublemaker cats Tiggy and Roo. Other hobbies included gardening, shopping, listening to audiobooks, watching TV shows and most importantly spending time with family and friends.

Kim leaves behind her beautiful daughter Jessica Coello, whom she is so very proud of; her beloved nephews Christopher, Trent, Cameron and Connor Coello; and her beloved brother Kevin Coello and sister-in-law Shelley.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Coello and Cappie Haley and her best friend who was always more like a sister, Georgia Lee Johnson.

Kim will always be remembered for her generosity, positivity and unwavering tenacity.
