Mary Edna Burke RolandOn March 3, 2009 at her home at the age of 100. She was a lifetime resident of Alexandria, VA. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John C Burke, who rode with the Mosby Rangers during the Civil War; her parents, Henry F. and Ida Davis Burke, her husband, Frank E. Roland; her daughter, Shirley Roland; and three grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Charles ?Rocky? Roland; five daughters, Bobbi Hudson, Joan Roland, Joyce Shepherd, Sibby Rorer, and Linda Bolton. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, and a devoted niece, Ethel Lavinus. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 7-9 PM at Cunningham Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA.
