Olga Constance López

Olga Constance López was born on January 5, 1938 in Baltimore, Maryland. She lived 86 years devoted to her family before she unexpectedly passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 surrounded by her family. Olga was the second of four children born to Helene Kysk Crowe and John William Crowe. She was predeceased by her dear siblings Joan Crowe, Patti Fulton, and J. William Crowe. She married Daniel M. López in 1962 and they were divorced in 1983. She was the beloved mother of her son Daniel T. López (Kathryn Gray) and her daughters Felice López, and Yvette Lagaly (Rodney). She was the adored grandmother of Nancy, Jana, Elissia, Michael, Zoe, Wyatt, Rafael, Nicolas, and Carmina and 12 great grandchildren Evelyn, Leonardo, Carson, Brodey, Asher, Jaxon, Charli, Landon, Kaydence, Peightan, Rosalie, and Mila. She was the beloved aunt of nephews William Carr Fulton, and John William Crowe, III. She created a loving home where many children sought refuge and were nurtured. 

She served in the Women’s Army Corp from 1958-1962. She studied accounting and received her associates degree from Northern Virginia Community College. She was a community activist advocating for improved public education and equal access to sports for girls. In the 1970s she was active with the National Organization for Women where she advocated for equal rights for women. She had many phases of work throughout her life including selling insurance, real estate and finally working as a tax accounting assistant until she retired in 1998. She enjoyed gardening, watching baseball, football and soccer, world history, US politics, her grandchildren and her dog Cass RIP. She loved music, dance and played her flute daily. Olga sang with the Sweet Adelines women’s chorus for many years. She dearly loved and served her family with all her heart and soul. She was our beloved matriarch and was our devoted champion forever encouraging us to become our best selves. We all love her and miss her deeply. 

A Memorial Service and a Celebration of Life for Olga will be held on March 8, 2025, at 1:00 at Alexandria Friends Meeting at Woodlawn, 8990 Woodlawn Road Alexandria, Virginia 22309. Interment will be private. 

If desired in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arlington Soccer Association. The organization offers a variety of community-based programs at zero cost to participants and their families. Each year, Arlington Soccer provides $350,000 in financial assistance to ensure equitable opportunities to all children
