Samuel Charles Hurton

Samuel Charles Hurton, 14, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Sam was born on September 26, 2005 in Honolulu, Hawaii to his loving parents Kent and Lisa. He was baby brother to Madison and big brother to Emily, both 22 months older and younger respectively, and each shared an intuit bond with Sam. He is survived by a multitude of grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Michael Yocum and his aunt Samantha Jane Quinn.

Samuel attended Edison High School where he flourished as a student and as an athlete. He loved swimming, choir, playing fantasy games, watching anime, and was a Life Scout and Senior Patrol Leader with Troop 4077.

Samuel will forever be in the thoughts, minds, hearts, and prayers of all who he left behind. He always looked forward to the next season of life, and following in his example, the family looks forward to when they will be reunited with him again.

The family will receive friends at the Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. There will be a
video camera in a separate room for those who wish to make a video tribute to Samuel and his family. While masks and social distancing are required, everyone is welcome to attend. Please
wear clothing that represents where you knew Samuel from (scouts, swim team, choir, school, etc.). Otherwise, please wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt or most comfortable clothes.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Due to Covid-19 public gathering restrictions, only a limited number of people may attend. To assist the family in planning, please complete a funeral mass request form online at https://forms.gle/HTavU7zpV24WY5t18. The funeral mass can be viewed via live
stream at https://youtu.be/7mkL-bQMvsY. A private interment will be held at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA on Monday, August 31, 2020.

A GoFundMe site has been set up to assist the Hurton family with expenses. This GoFundMe is also serving as the platform for which the family will continue to share information. You can
