Stanley T. “Buddy” Young, Jr., 71, of Bristow, VA, passed away on December 28, 2015, following a massive stroke.He was born in Alexandria, VA on February 29, 1944, to Stanley T. and Amy L. Young. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Alonzo E. Wood. Surviving are his beloved wife of more than 25 years, Diane Wood Young; his son, Brian E. Young Roxanna; his cherished grandson, Brian S. Young, his aunt, Ruby Young, his mother-in-law, Helene R. Wood, his sister-in-law, Donna P. Wood, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Stan lived in Alexandria, VA most of his life, before moving to Centreville, VA for 17 years, and then to his dream home in Bristow. After a 38-year career in banking, he eased into retirement by way of 12 years as a Security Officer at The Madeira School in McLean, VA. He loved fishing, camping and boating and was a lifetime member of B.A.S.S. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and most recently, Penny, his four-legged daughter.On Saturday, January 2, 2016, a celebration of life will begin with visitation at 11 a.m. at Cunningham Turch Life Celebration Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., followed by interment at Mount Comfort Cemetery.
